Dear Family,
Thank you so much for the letter this week. It's always such a pleasure to hear from you! I love you guys. This week was so great. So many great things happened this week. First and foremost, Brother and Sister G were baptized this past Saturday and confirmed on Sunday. It was just incredible. Very hard not to cry. The Spirit was very strong at the baptismal service and it was just such a great experience. I feel so blessed to just have been there to see it. One thing that I will always remember: Brother G was baptized first and then Sister G stepped into the water. After she came up out of the water, their oldest son, L, was standing next to the font and said "Jullie zijn gedoopt!" ( You are both baptized!" After that, Sister G, still in the water, walked over to the side leaned over the font and kissed him on the forehead. I'm so happy for this family and just love them so much. They have really strengthened my testimony and helped me to see even more how important families are. Next stop is the temple! President has given us permission to go with them next year and we are so happy. That night I just laid on the floor for a minute and felt like Ammon from Alma 27:17-18. Definitely an experience that I will never forget.
Other news this week: It is the end of this transfer and unfortunately my companion will be leaving me to move to Gouda, Netherlands. I'm not sure who my new companion is. I won't find out until Wednesday morning because I will be training a fresh missionary straight from the MTC! Yay! Nervous, but super excited. It's funny, right after getting comfortable, another curveball is thrown. It'll be a great experience. I was also asked to serve as the district leader this transfer. Once again, nervous but excited.
I was excited to hear about all the things going on back home. My package with my glasses arrived, thank you so much. And thank you for the support and for everything that you do. It's been such a help. I love you guys!
Love,
Elder Schulte
This is so nice to read...
ReplyDeleteElder Schulte is such a nice man, and I hope he can stay much longer with us in Gent!!!
The day he'll leave will be so hard for my whole family...
Best regards,
Sister (Isabel) Geens
Beth, my son is Elder Shoemaker, your sons new companion. My husband and I did some googling and found this website. We were so excited! My son is fresh out of the MTC and from the sound of it, he's very fortunate to have your son as his first trainer. Also if Sister Geens reads this posting....thank you so much for helping to take care of Elder Shoemaker when he was under the weather.
