11/17/12 Imagine Dragons!

Dear Family,

It's been a crazy week, holy cow! A lot of things have happened. I'll first start with last Sunday. This miracle was just a tender mercy from the Lord. He knows how much I love music, haha. I was standing in church greeting people coming in when these two guys walked in. One was dressed up super nice and the other was dressed up a little more like a rocker. The guy in the suit came up to me and said, Elder! I am so glad I found you. I need your help. I left my smart phone in the taxi and that has my entire schedule on it. May we borrow your phone to call the hotel?  So we called the hotel and arranged for the taxi to come back. They than asked, do you mind if we hang around you for a little bit just in case they call back. So I am hanging out with these two guys in the hallway during church. I asked them what they were doing here. Turns out they are on world tour right now. They are a rock band called Imagine Dragons. They had just played 4 sold out shows. One being the night before in Amsterdam. The lead singer is a member of the church. I was chilling there in the hall with the lead singer and the general manager. Super cool guys. Singer served his mission in Nebraska and the other in England. Anywho, I snagged a picture. All the other missionaries were either translating or teaching a class. I guess I was just a lucky duck that day, or maybe just a bad missionary, haha. No I promise I work hard. But the manager turned to me before he left and said, contact me after your mission and I will put you on THE LIST to get into their shows as a guest. cool eh? There was a baptism on Sunday for Junior from Brazil. He asked me to sing at his baptism of all people. I roped my companion into it and we sang a duet of Brightly Beams our father's mercy. We did very well. Grandma Linda would be proud :). Monday, was an office day. Lot of big things happened there too. Tuesday, we had dinner at President Boom's house. He is the stake president of Antwerpen. His brother lived in the same apartment as President Ellis when they were on their missions together. Wednesday we had an exchange. We saw some great miracles that day! One of our investigators quit her job and will be coming to church this Sunday. She'll be baptized in three weeks. She is from Hungary. Thursday, we worked in Gent the entire day. Unfortunately, we did not have a whole lot of time to visit members. We were there to support the work in finding new people to teach. It was really great to be back there. I love that city with all my heart. Friday, I went on exchanges again with the other elders here in Amsterdam. We had some great lessons and had a miracle with one of our friends that we are teaching. She had a really rough day. She was about to call us when we showed up at her door. We felt prompted to turn the car around and go visit with her. She is scheduled for the 9th of December. The G's are going to the temple this next weekend! WOOT! I cannot believe it has been a year since they were baptized. I am excited to see them this next week. The week after they will be sealed. There was a lot more that happened but I don't have too much more time to write. Love you all! Have a great week.
