6/27/11

Dear Family,

Hello! Loved the emails this week. I definitely feel caught up to all the news now. Sounds like there is a ton going on. It feels so weird each time I read an email and it's like "What the heck, when did this happen?"  That's stinks about football... But kinda cool that I won't miss anything! That's awesome for Jimmer. I'm so excited to hear how he does next season. To be honest, this was a pretty tough week. We had 14 appointments but only 1 went through. Things won't always go the way you hoped haha. It just means we'll have a killer week hereafter. Keep praying for them. If there is one thing I have learned so far, it's how precious an investigator is. James, the park close to the church had a giant festival with upcoming Dj's who blasted music. Fedde Le Grande and Armin Van Buuren are coming to the Netherlands in a month or so. There are advertisements for them everywhere. Surniame food is heavenly. If I can find a place back in the states that serves Roti, I will eat there everyday for the rest of my life. I'm so excited for you all to go to Lake George! That sounds like it'll be such a blast. Cape Cod is always so much fun during the Summer. Oh gosh, care packages. I never know what to ask for, only when I'm not thinking about it. Could I get some more G-2 pens? Red, Blue, Green, Purple. I love those pens. A micro SD card with pictures would be really sweet too not that they can go into my MP3 player. Thank you so much for it. It is wonderful!  I was also wodering if you could give me an account of how much money I have withdrawn since being here. I need to figure out how much i need to reimburse my personal funds with MSF. Lond story short, my first companion never told me about reimbursments so I quickly ran out of MSF due to no bike and solely using public transportation. That is so great about Desiree Morgan! KEEP HER BUSY! invite her for dinner, family night, anything. New converts are so stinking fragile, holy cow.  Couple cool miracles that happened this week. First, we were knocking on doors and it was just "no"after "no". We sat there and just wonderd why we felt like we were supposed to go to this area but continued on. We come up to this door and the name plate says "E. Schulte" Naturally, I thought this was cool. A man opens the door and I said, "Nice name plate, I have one too!" I pointed to my badge. He says, ""oh that's great! But you caught me at a bad time. I am watching voetball." So we gave him a card and moved on. About 5 minutes later, this older gentleman walks out and goes "Alright, which one of you is E. Schulte!" I raised my hand and he came over with his cane. We talked for a second and he wanted to know what we were doing there. We talked to him about The PLan of Salvation and he goes, "I have been wondering about that. My wife died 6 months ago and I have no idea what comes after this life. Next time you come by, we'll have a drink and we can talk!" It was really neat. He is 78 years old and so funny. Next, we met a man in the park named Abu. He is a stud! He comes from Gambia but speaks perfect Dutch and just a genuine guy. We talked to him for a little bit and everything just went perfectly. He asked us for an appointment and for our phone number. He said he was having a lot of trouble figuring out what he's doing with his life. He has a job and he's doing well but he thinks there's more to life. God put us in the right place at the right time. There have been so many instances where I have wondered why we are in a certain place but then some miracle happens. It happens so often that I fully trust those feelings now. The importance of listening to the spirit! Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week. It was great hearing from you!
